Product Information
Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is an enzyme that is involved in the glycolytic pathway. The wild-type GAPDH gene encodes a protein with three domains, two of which are active enzymatic domains. The third domain acts as a regulatory domain and is not catalytically active. GAPDH has been shown to be expressed in tumor cells and its expression level is associated with cancer progression and metastasis. GAPDH has also been shown to be expressed in mouse colonic tumors and has been implicated in the development of these tumors. It has also been observed that GAPDH can induce apoptosis by caspase-independent cell death in cultured neurons.
