L-Asparaginase is an enzyme that is used to treat certain types of cancer and has been shown to be effective in the treatment of infectious diseases. It has been shown to decrease mitochondrial membrane potential, which leads to cell death. L-Asparaginase also has inhibitory properties against autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. This drug has been found to be biocompatible with polymers and can be used as a model system for surface methodology. L-Asparaginase is also known to have anticancer effects on carcinoma cells by inhibiting polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
