Product Information
Poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase (PARG) is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of poly(ADP-ribose). PARG is a key mediator of caspase-independent cell death. PARG inhibition has been shown to induce synergistic cell death in combination with other anti-cancer agents, such as histone deacetylase inhibitors and proteasome inhibitors. The drug can be used as a chemotherapeutic agent for bowel disease and experimental models. Poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase has been shown to play a role in transcriptional regulation, x-ray crystal structures, and energy metabolism. When PARG is inhibited, cytosolic calcium levels increase, which can lead to the activation of calpain and subsequent cleavage of cytoskeletal proteins. Structural analysis has revealed that PARG contains an alpha/beta hydrolase fold that enables it to cleave poly(
