Description:3-Methyl-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinoxalin-2-one is a substrate for tyramine and homovanillic acid oxidases. It is used as a fluorogenic substrate for horseradish peroxidase. The fluorescence of 3-methyl-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinoxalin-2-one changes in response to the activity of the enzyme. This makes it possible to measure the enzyme activity of tyramine or homovanillic acid oxidases by measuring the intensity of the fluorescence. The stability of 3 methyl -3,4 dihydro -1H quinoxalin -2 one has been shown when it was incubated with horseradish peroxidase at 37 degrees Celsius for 20 hours.
