Product Information
Cerberic acid B is a phenolic compound that is found in the leaves of Cerbera and Chrysanthemum species. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against a variety of bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Salmonella enterica. The antibacterial effect was attributed to the production of organic acids by these bacteria in response to the presence of cerberic acid B. It has been quantified in chrysanthemi paniculata and other plants from the family Compositae. Cerberic acid B has also been detected in liquid chromatography-diode array-mass spectrometry (LC-DAD-MS) profiles for various plants, including liquorice.
