Description:Clomeprop is a synthetic herbicide that inhibits the growth of plants by inhibiting mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase. This enzyme is required for cellular respiration, so clomeprop inhibits the production of ATP by mitochondria and therefore prevents plant growth. Clomeprop has shown to be active against bacterial strains, such as Salmonella typhimurium, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
