Description:ZK-90055 is a peptide agonist that binds to the α2-adrenergic receptor and activates it. ZK-90055 has been shown to inhibit the release of norepinephrine from sympathetic nerve terminals in vitro. The binding of ZK-90055 to the α2-adrenergic receptor leads to an increase in intracellular cAMP levels, which activates protein kinase A. This activation leads to inhibition of the neuronal firing rate and increased blood flow.
