Topazolin is a chemical compound that is a potent radical scavenger. Topazolin also has insulin-sensitizing properties and has been shown to reduce the expression of genes involved in cancer and diabetes. Topazolin is extracted from the roots of Glycyrrhiza uralensis, which belongs to the genus glycyrrhiza. It has been shown to have anti-tumor activity against hepg2 cells, and can inhibit microbial metabolism by binding to DNA, preventing transcription and replication. The chemical structure of topazolin includes coumarin derivatives and prenylflavonoids.
