Description:
(2S,3R)-1-(Dimethylamino)-3-(3-methoxyphenyl)-2-methylpentan-3-ol is a chiral, synthetic chemical that is used in the synthesis of other organic compounds. The (2S, 3R) configuration is obtained by the reaction of Grignard reagent with an enantiomeric mixture of 2,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde. The reaction proceeds by a nucleophilic substitution of the Grignard reagent with the electron-deficient methyl ketone and subsequent elimination of water.
