Product Information

Name:
2- Methyloxyethylammonium iodide
Description:

2-Methyloxyethylammonium iodide is a high purity research tool, which is used as an ion channel inhibitor. It binds to the ligand binding site of the ion channel, thereby preventing the flow of ions through the channel. 2-Methyloxyethylammonium iodide has been shown to inhibit L-type voltage-gated calcium channels in mouse dorsal root ganglion neurons, and therefore may be useful for treatment of pain. 2-Methyloxyethylammonium iodide is a ligand that can activate some receptors and inhibit others. The binding of 2-methyloxyethylammonium iodide to its receptor triggers a conformational change that activates or inhibits function of the receptor and downstream signaling pathways.
