Product Information
SB271046 is a ligand that binds to the 5-HT6 receptor. It has been shown to inhibit the activation of hippocampal neurons, which may be due to its ability to activate dopamine receptors. SB271046 also inhibits the binding of glutamate to its receptors and hyperpolarizes hippocampal neurons by inhibiting calcium influx. The drug has been shown to have beneficial effects on locomotor activity in animal models with Parkinson's disease, although it does not show any beneficial effects on Parkinsonian symptoms such as tremor or rigidity.
