N-desmethyl sorafenib is an analytical standard for the HPLC assay of sorafenib. It is a metabolite of sorafenib, which is a drug used in the treatment of cancer. It has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis and cell growth in vitro and in vivo. N-desmethyl sorafenib has been shown to inhibit the activity of methionine adenosyltransferase, leading to inhibition of DNA synthesis.
