Product Information

Name:
TY-52156
Description:

TY-52156 is a novel neurotrophic factor that is activated by metabolic disorders. This compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of mouse tumor cells in culture and to induce cell death in some malignant brain tumors and leukemia cells. TY-52156 binds to the basic protein component of the dinucleotide phosphate (dNTP) and inhibits polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It also regulates transcriptional activity, which may be due to its ability to bind to DNA at specific sequences. The expression of this gene seems to be specific for cancer cell lines, such as carcinoma cell lines and fetal bovine serum-treated leukemic cell lines, but not for normal human cells. Tyrosine kinase receptors have been identified as potential therapeutic targets for this drug.
