TAS 205 can be used as a research tool and has been shown to inhibit ion channels such as NMDA receptors. TAS 205 has also been shown to inhibit neuronal cell death, by preventing glutamate-mediated excitotoxicity. TAS 205 is soluble in water and buffers at pH 7.4.
