Product Information

Name:
Smad3 Inhibitor, SIS3
Description:

SIS3 is a Smad3 inhibitor that inhibits the transcriptional activity of Runx2. It has been shown to inhibit the expression of osteogenic genes in a transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay. This drug also suppresses the growth of tumor cells, such as choroidal neovascularization induced by growth factor-β1 (GF-β1) and collagen production in lung fibroblasts and hepatocyte-like cells. SIS3 has been shown to be effective against cancerous tumors, including breast cancer, lung cancer, and melanoma. This drug binds to the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) site on DNA and blocks transcription. The binding of SIS3 leads to an increase in phosphatase activity and a decrease in lb-100 activity, which inhibits cell proliferation.
