N-Methyl 3-aminobenzenesulfonamide is a potent anticancer agent that inhibits the transcription of certain genes. It has been shown to inhibit transcription in human cells and in vitro. This molecule has been shown to act as a potent inhibitor of polymerase activity, with IC 50 values of 0.01 nM for DNA polymerase and 10 nM for RNA polymerase. N-Methyl 3-aminobenzenesulfonamide is an oncogene domain inhibitor, which prevents the expression of oncogenes such as Ras, Raf, and Myc by binding to their respective domains. The substitution effects of this molecule have also been studied extensively, showing that substituent groups can change its activity.
