Product Information

Name:
1β-Hydroxytorilin
Description:

1β-Hydroxytorilin is a sesquiterpene lactone that inhibits cell growth and induces autophagy. It belongs to a class of compounds called hepg2 cell, which act by inhibiting the phosphatase activity of the enzyme homologous to hepg2. 1β-Hydroxytorilin has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in culture by triggering autophagy and apoptosis. 1β-Hydroxytorilin also shows significant cytotoxicity against several cancer cell lines, including leukemia, lymphoma, and colon cancer. The skeleton of this compound is an oxygenated ring system with two methyl groups and one hydroxyl group at C19 that was synthesized from an acetate precursor. This structure makes it similar to other natural products found in plants such as aloe vera or licorice root.
