Ammoniumiron(II)sulfate has a redox potential of +0.01 V and can be used as an analytical chemistry reagent for determining the presence of functional groups in compounds such as acrylonitrile and vinyl alcohol. Ammoniumiron(II)sulfate copolymerizes with other monomers, such as styrene and acrylonitrile, to produce a variety of polymers with different properties.
