Description:
1-Bromo-2,4,6-triphenylbenzene is a chemical compound with the formula C12H11Br. It is a bifunctional molecule that has reactive groups at both ends of the molecule. At one end it has an amidine and at the other end it has an aryl bromide. It reacts with diethyl aluminium chloride to form an adduct which is lithiated in situ with n-butyllithium. This reaction produces a dialkylaluminium species that reacts with isopropyl bromide to produce the desired product. The resulting product can be used as a precursor for stannyl compounds.
