Product Information

Name:
Mal-amido-PEG1-C2-NHS ester
Description:

Mal-amido-PEG1-C2-NHS ester is a synthetic, water soluble polymer that has been shown to have an antiproliferative effect on prostate cancer cells. It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of mouse melanoma tumor cells. Mal-amido-PEG1-C2-NHS ester is taken up by these cells through integrin receptors and inhibits the release of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and other growth factors. Mal-amido-PEG1-C2-NHS ester can be used as a monoclonal antibody, which can be targeted against EGF or other growth factor receptors found in cancerous tumors. Mal-amido-PEG1-C2-NHS ester may also be effective at inhibiting the proliferation of neuro2a cells in the brain.
