Trimethoxy(4-methoxyphenyl)silane has been shown to react with chlorides in an elemental analysis and is also soluble in organic solvents such as benzene or cyclohexane. The compound yields high yields when coupled with matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS).
