Product Information
- Benzaldehyde, 2,4,5-Trichloro-
2,4,5-Trichlorobenzaldehyde is a chemical that is used in research and industrial processes. It is a nucleophilic compound that can be synthesized by the reaction of chlorine with an aromatic compound. 2,4,5-Trichlorobenzaldehyde has been shown to be effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), but not against methicillin-sensitive strains. This compound reacts with the phenoxy group at the 3 position of benzene to produce dibenzofurans. These compounds have been shown to have strong acid moieties, which may result in polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) when they are irradiated.
