Description:
Paniculoside II is a natural product that has significant antifungal activity. It is isolated from rhizomes of the plant, Codonopsis lanceolata. The compound was shown to inhibit the growth of cryptococcus, cryptococcus neoformans, and candida albicans in vitro. In addition, it showed significant antifungal activity against diterpenes present in the fungus Entomophthora spp. This study also found that paniculoside II is a diterpene lactone with a unique chemical structure.
