Product Information

Name:
α-Conidendrin
Description:

α-Conidendrin is a natural chemical compound found in the roots of plants. It has been shown to have antioxidant effects and may be useful in treating cancer. α-Conidendrin is derived from protocatechuic acid, which is produced by the plant as a result of a reaction with p-hydroxybenzoic acid. α-Conidendrin can be synthesized using secoisolariciresinol and radical scavenging activities. The asymmetric synthesis for α-conidendrin involves hydroxyl group, which is then oxidized to form the secoisolariciresinol. This compound can be used to inhibit tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFA) induced inflammation in cell culture and has been shown to have potential anticancer activity against podophyllotoxin, oxomatairesinol, and friedel-crafts reaction.
