Description:

2,6-Diaminohexan-1-ol is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of human pathogens by binding to bacterial cell wall and preventing the synthesis of proteins. It has been shown to inhibit the production of human creatine kinase and other enzymes, which may be due to its ability to bind to toll-like receptor (TLR) on cells. 2,6-Diaminohexan-1-ol also has a sterilizing effect as it can kill bacteria in a matter of minutes.
2,6-Diaminohexan-1-ol is active against Gram negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. It has been shown to be active against Gram positive bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis. This drug has been shown to have no effect on fungi or yeast.
