Description:

ARL 67156 is a drug that inhibits the enzyme poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase. It has been shown to have neuroprotective effects in animal models of stroke and traumatic brain injury. ARL 67156 also has inhibitory effects on glutamate release, which may be useful for treating diseases such as Parkinson's disease, depression and schizophrenia. The drug is being investigated as a potential treatment for autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and lupus erythematosus.
