1-(3-Bromophenyl)-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylic acid (BPTC) is a potent inhibitor of potassium channels. BPTC has been shown to inhibit the Kv1.2 channel, which is activated by voltage and plays an important role in neuronal excitability and cell death. BPTC may also be used as a research tool for studying ion channels and their interactions with ligands.
