Product Information

Name:
Histone Lysine Methyltransferase Inhibitor
Description:

The histone lysine methyltransferase inhibitor (HMT) is an epigenetic modulator that inhibits the activity of a group of enzymes called histone lysine methyltransferases. These enzymes are responsible for transferring methyl groups to lysine residues on histones, which affects how tightly DNA is wound around histones. This process is important in regulating changes in gene expression and cell differentiation. HMTs have been shown to be effective as anticancer agents that target cancer cells with high levels of methylation and to inhibit growth factor-β1 induced proliferation in myeloma cells. The chemical inhibitors bix-01294 and toll-like receptor antagonist can also function as HMTs.
