Product Information
Tert-Butyl N-{2-[(2-aminoethyl)disulfanyl]ethyl}carbamate (TBEC) is a small molecule that has shown stability in complexation with human serum proteins. It has been used to treat infectious diseases, such as HIV and malaria, by enhancing the uptake of the drug. TBEC is also able to bind to DNA and RNA, specifically targeting mirnas. TBEC has been shown to have anti-cancer properties in vitro and in vivo for ovarian carcinoma. This agent can be used as an alternative treatment for cancer diagnosis because it is more stable than other drugs. TBEC has a redox potential of -0.28 V, which means it can be used for intracellular drug delivery because there is no need for an external reductant. The diameter of TBEC is around 2 nm and it is soluble in water at concentrations greater than 10 mM.
