Description:PIM 447 is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that inhibits the activity of JAK2. This drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells in tissue culture and may be useful for the treatment of t-cell lymphomas. PIM 447 binds to a region on the JAK2 protein that is required for its function and prevents it from phosphorylating tyrosine residues. It also inhibits the transcriptional activity of JAK2, which may lead to inhibition of cell proliferation and anti-tumour effects. Monoclonal antibodies against PIM 447 have been developed for use as a therapy for B-cell malignancies.
