Product Information
Ophiopogonin A is a biologically active compound that belongs to the class of fructus. It is a polysaccharide and has shown anti-oxidative effects in vitro. Ophiopogonin A has been found to have hepatoprotective effects, including protection against liver toxicity induced by acetaminophen (Tylenol). In addition, ophiopogonin A also inhibits the growth of cancer cells in vitro. These activities may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species and protect against oxidative stress, as well as inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells by altering cell cycle regulation or inducing apoptosis.
