Product Information
Methyl 3-fluoropyrazine-2-carboxylate is an analog of thiacetazone. It has been shown to be a potent anti-tuberculosis drug and has been used as a substitute for thiacetazone in the discovery of new anti-tuberculosis drugs. Methyl 3-fluoropyrazine-2-carboxylate is a fluorinated analog of thiacetazone, which can be synthesized from 3,4,5 -trimethoxybenzoyl chloride and N-(3'-aminopropoxy)phthalimide. This analog was found to be more potent than its parent compound in inhibiting bacterial growth in culture. It also has a higher priority for development due to its halogen atoms, which increases its electronegativity.
