Product Information
Name:Methyl (2S)-2-acetamido-3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)propanoate
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Methyl (2S)-2-acetamido-3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)propanoate is a synthetic compound that can be used in the synthesis of histamine and other amino acids. This compound is prepared by reacting 2-napthoyl chloride with methyl (2S)-2-hydroxy-3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)propanoate in the presence of a base, such as sodium ethoxide. The reaction product is purified by chromatography on silica gel or on alumina. Methyl (2S)-2-acetamido-3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)propanoate can also be synthesized by reacting n butyl alcohol with nitrous acid followed by the addition of hydrochloric acid to give an acetamide derivative. This derivative reacts with ammonia and hydrogen iodide to form methyl (2S)-2 acetamido
