Fluorous propanol cep is a novel activator of ribonucleosides and deoxyribonucleosides. It is a nucleoside phosphoramidite that can be used to synthesize modified nucleosides, and has anticancer, antiviral and antibacterial properties. Fluorous propanol cep is an excellent activator for the synthesis of ribonuclesides and deoxyribonucleosides from their corresponding monophosphate derivatives. The product has been shown to inhibit replication of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) in vitro, with IC50 values less than 1 mM.
