Description

Gentamicin B is a chemical compound that inhibits the growth of bacteria by inactivating enzymes. It binds to the active site of bacterial enzymes such as isepamicin sulfate, and trifluoroacetic acid, which prevents them from functioning. This drug has been shown to be effective against wild-type strains of bacteria and has been used in a model system to study mitochondrial membrane potential. Gentamicin B also has antimicrobial properties against human pathogens and has been used in the treatment of infectious diseases.
