It has been shown to have anti-oxidant activity in the presence of hydrogen peroxide in vitro. 2,2-Dimethylchromane-6-carbaldehyde has also been shown to inhibit the growth of MCF7 cells by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest at G0/G1 phase.
