Angiostatin is a potent inhibitor of new blood vessel growth, which is required for tumor growth. It is an inactive protein that has been modified to be active by attaching the enzyme thrombin to it. The immobilized Angiostatin molecule binds to calcium ions and inhibits the production of a protein that is required for cell division. This process can be used in cancer treatments to inhibit tumor growth. Porosity and molecular size are important factors when choosing an appropriate support material for immobilization.
1) Rifapentine is an antituberculosis drug that belongs to the class of rifamycins. It inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication. The high frequency of human activity has been shown using a patch-clamp technique on human erythrocytes. This active form is metabolized through a number of metabolic transformations, including hydrolysis by esterases or glucuronidases, oxidation
