Description

Nafarelin acetate hydrate is a synthetic analog of the natural hormone, gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). It is used in the treatment of endometriosis. Nafarelin acetate hydrate has been shown to desensitize nasal tissues and can be administered by nasal spray for the treatment of this condition. The drug also helps to reduce estrogen production, which may help to treat hypogonadism or anovulation. In addition, it may cause ovulation in some patients. Nafarelin acetate hydrate is a salt form with a porcine residue that is hydrolyzed in vivo to nafarelin, its active form.
