Product Information
Ajugol is a herbal drug that has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandin E2, leukotriene B4, and histamine. Ajugol is used to treat bowel disease and has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on hl-60 cells. The effects of ajugol are due in part to its ability to form a matrix with glycosides, iridoid compounds, and other active ingredients that are found in the root. The antiinflammatory activity of ajugol is thought to be due to harpagide or related substances. The biological effects of this drug have been studied using the analytical method of radix ajugoli extract.
