Description:

Ganoderic acid Y is a natural compound that is found in the mushroom Ganoderma lucidum. It is a mutant of the enzyme glutamine synthetase and has been shown to alter transcriptional regulation. This compound binds to the nitrogen of guanine nucleotides, which inhibits synthesis of RNA and DNA. Ganoderic acid Y also has been shown to inhibit energy metabolism by inhibiting enzymes that are involved in the synthesis of ATP and NADH and may have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit the production of prostaglandins.
