Product Information

Name:
(+)-8-Methoxyisolariciresinol
Description:

(+)-8-Methoxyisolariciresinol is a flavonoid compound that has been shown to have cytotoxic activity against malignant cells. It also exhibits significant cytoprotective activity, which may be due to its ability to scavenge hydroxyl radicals and protect cells from oxidative stress. (+)-8-Methoxyisolariciresinol has been shown in vitro to have strong anti-inflammatory properties, as well as potent antioxidant properties. This compound also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β). In addition, it was found to inhibit the growth of cultured human breast cancer cells at concentrations of 10 μM.
