Description:S 14506 Hydrochloride is a selective 5-HT1A receptor agonist that has been shown to have proapoptotic activity in prostate cancer cells. S 14506 Hydrochloride binds to the serotonin receptor, which is important for the modulation of mood, appetite, sexual function and pain sensation. It causes an increase in extracellular levels of hydrogen chloride and chloride ions, which may be responsible for its anxiolytic effects. This drug has also been shown to inhibit cell growth by binding to the subunits that make up the enzyme protein kinase A (PKA). PKA activates protein kinases, which are enzymes that regulate cellular processes such as metabolism and gene expression.
