Product Information
Alkynyl-biotin is an innovative and selective biotin analog that has been shown to regulate the biological function of proteins. Alkynyl-biotin binds to methyltransferases and protein targets, which are enzymes that transfer a methyl group from S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM) to other molecules. Alkynyl-biotin is able to inhibit tumor growth in vivo at low concentrations by targeting histone H3, a protein that regulates DNA transcription. Alkynyl-biotin is also able to inhibit o-glycosylation, an important process for cellular differentiation and proliferation.
