6-O-Acetyldaidzin is a phenolic compound that belongs to the group of carbohydrates. It is found in many plants and has a constant molecular weight and molecular formula. 6-O-Acetyldaidzin can be analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography or liquid chromatography. The compound is stable at temperatures up to 200°C, but will decompose at temperatures above 230°C. 6-O-Acetyldaidzin has been shown to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus strains and has been used as an antimicrobial agent in treatments for urinary tract infections. This compound also inhibits the growth of Streptococcus mutans, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of glycitein, an important component of dental plaque formation.
