Astragaloside I is a natural compound found in the roots of Astragalus membranaceus. It has been shown to have immunomodulatory effects, which may be related to its ability to modulate the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-6. This drug also inhibits HIV infection by interfering with viral replication and suppressing viral activity. Astragaloside I has been shown to bind to human mitochondrial protein target and inhibit mitochondrial respiration in vitro, suggesting that it may have an effect on energy metabolism.
