Description:

N-Acetyl-2-O-methyl-a-neuraminic acid methyl ester 4,7,8,9-tetraacetate is a synthetic monosaccharide that is the methyl ester of 2-O-Methyl alpha-neuraminic acid. It is an important reagent in the synthesis of oligosaccharides and polysaccharides. Methylation of the hydroxyl group on the C4' atom of NAMNAA (4,7,8,9 tetraacetate) with methyl iodide followed by acetylation with acetic anhydride produces the desired product. The resulting product has a purity level of >98% and CAS No. 73208-80-7.
