Description:2-Amino-2-deoxy-D-talose (2ADDT) is an intermediate in the synthesis of 2,3:4,5-di-O-acetylideneamino-2,3:4,5-di-O-methylideneamino D -talose. It is obtained by the hydrolysis of 2,3:4,5-di-O-acetylideneamino D -talose with hydrochloric acid and methanol. The product is a white solid that can be purified by recrystallization from water or ethanol.
