Product Information
- Isobarbaloin
Aloin B is a bioactive compound found in the extract of the aloe plant. It is a low-level component of the crude extract and has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, as well as inhibitory effects on melanoma cells. Aloin B has also been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells by binding to and stabilizing the BCL-2 protein, which prevents tumor cells from undergoing programmed cell death. Aloin B also inhibits DNA synthesis by binding to the polymerase chain reaction enzyme, thereby preventing replication of DNA. The mechanism of action for aloin B may be due to its ability to disrupt cell membranes, leading to cell injury and death. Aloin B has been shown to inhibit cancer development in vitro when combined with other compounds such as chrysanthemum flower extract or pc12 cells.
