• Description: Sodium niobate is a ferroelectric material that can be activated by hydroxyl ions. It has been used in the preparation of colorectal carcinoma samples for electron microscopy and as a low-energy particle accelerator. The phase transition temperature of sodium niobate (650°C) is higher than that of barium titanate, which makes it more suitable for high-temperature applications. Sodium niobate can be synthesized by reacting anhydrous sodium carbonate with sodium hydroxide solution in a reaction solution at 150°C. The synthesis method is not practical because the required conditions are difficult to obtain and maintain.
