It is chemically stable and has high resistance to oxidation. SAMOX has been shown to be a good catalyst for sodium carbonate-based electrolysis, which can be used as an alternative fuel production method. In addition, SAMOX has a thermal expansion coefficient similar to zirconium oxide and can also be used as part of the coating on particles where the surface methodology is required or where kinetic data needs to be measured. Finally, SAMOX can be used as the control electrode in plasma mass spectrometry.
